We had a great weekend at Kora Shrine Kare for Kids Ride-In KCBS contest. Was great seeing some friends and meeting a whole bunch of new ones. It’s what makes the BBQ community so great even if some people do not share their proprietary ingredients. BBQ Bandits 16 Mesh BBQ New England Pitmasters Live Q Or Die

Weekend started off with a 4th place in peoples choice and a call in the one meat rib contest with a 9th place finish. Following the rib contest we donated 4 racks of ribs to the Shriners for their rib auction. The ribs sold for 80 dollars and were then donated to the family of a Shriners Hospital patient.

In the KCBS contest Sunday we had a good cook and finished in 13th overall in a field that included some of the top teams in the country. We finished 13th in chicken, 23rd in pork, 22ndbin ribs and we recieved our first call in brisket with a 10th place finish.

The highlight of our weekend was having the opportunity to sponsor a strong little girl and her family for the kids-q contest. She is a Shriners Hospital patient who is fighting her way back from a spinal cord injury. The girls had to use ground beef in a dish. They chose to make mac n burger. They put the dish together and used our Humphrey's weekender to cook it. The girls did amazing and finished 4th.

Thank you to Sovereign Smoke and Lane's BBQ for the rubs and for B&B Charcoal for keeping our temps rolling all day in our Humphrey's Smokers & Gateway Drum Smokers.

Congratulations to FATED BBQ on winning Grand Champion and congratulations to Paddy McQ's on their Reserve Grand Champion.

Next competition is September 11th at the Otter River Sportsmans Club.
